Had a treehouse on a mountain top 
With miles of blue sky that never stop 
Was where we lived in our little promised land 
Had a dog his name was Green 
He’s my shadow we’re quite a team 
He saved me when he barked to wake me from a dream 
Climbed down the tree in pouring rain 
Green cut his foot and he howled in pain 
We watched the treehouse blow down the mountain

Found a few clothes and his bone 
With nothing left we’re free to roam 
Just me and Green together we hit the road 
Pretty soon got a check for the house 
Bought an old boat and we headed south

Now we live on a boat at sea 
Me and Green we’re living free

We sail til the sun falls and watch the stars shine

When Green barked I knew his warning 
I lashed the sails and the winds were swarming 
Giant waves came to wash us overboard 
First storm pushed us off our land 
The second storm we had a better plan
